This blog space is somewhere for me to share the odd, random and unusual thoughts and questions that

I entertain long enough to write down.


I know that there are two, or more, sides to each of these topics. I also know that this blog won’t be for

everyone, that’s okay. If it isn’t for you please just quietly see yourself out.

If you want to share your thoughts, feelings, knowledge and questions, please respectfully do so.

I want this to be a place for civil conversation. I actually do want to know what other people think about

these things.


NO FILTHY LANGUAGE OR NAME CALLING OF ANY KIND WILL BE TOLERATED.


I want to keep this as family friendly as possible, knowing that some subjects and ideas will not be for all

ages, but the “extra” words are not needed. If you can’t get your point across without those words, you

need to back up, look at your point and support it better. Like I said this space won’t be for everyone.


The view I have on life, I’m not sure if there is a label for it. For example, looking in the $5 movie bin at
Walmart recently, there were movies from as far back as the 1940s all the way forward to just released a
couple of months ago, about 75 years or so worth of film making represented in this bin. Most of it isn’t
doing anyone any good. You can see where creativity came into play and then was taken over by bad
CG and then better CG and then CG so real it’s unbelievable. These movies degrade women, the family,
make light of serious subjects, desensitize people to violence, murder and death. Encourage selfish,
narcissistic behavior and if it’s from the 1980s has so much bad language in it that you don’t even need to
bother; all for the sake of entertainment. That’s what I saw in that bin.

I don’t let these thoughts steal my joy. My joy comes from the Lord and I think it is because I personally

know that joy, that I see many of the things the way I do.


I’m not looking for everything to glorify God, especially in the world. The world can only do what it knows,

however it is discouraging to see the world tear itself apart. What happened to "survival of the fittest"? If

things keep going this way the human race isn't going to survive.

Who "Really" Said It First?

 As I have been finishing up my Copy Editing classes I learned about an English dialect that I had only heard negative things about; African American English (AAE). Check THIS out for more. When I answered the question in the video linked above, incorrectly for a white person, I realized that I had retrained myself out of not one dialect but two. The one I knew about was on purpose. Where I grew up not many people spoke that dialect, my family did, grandparents and such, but it wasn't native to the area. AI next industrial Rev?

  In 2008 when the movie Wall-E was released it all felt very far-fetched. As time moves on and technology advances as well as our dependence on it, Wall-E feels pretty feasible today. The industrial revolution that began roughly in the 1760s, brought many crazy ideas, as well as some more practical ones to modernize the civil world. But at what cost? Lace machines could now make lace faster and without having to pay as many humans to make it, so therefore cheaper and so people bought it thinking it was really the better way to go. On the flip side of that is the elderly woman who was able to make lace at home, as time allowed, while caring for others in her family. She was paid when she sold the piece. If she needed more money she’d make more lace and find the time to get it completed faster. I understand that humans were still needed to operate and watch the machines, but that isn’t the same work.
